Welcome to EasyRead. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the EasyRead mobile application, website, and related services (the “Service”).

By downloading, accessing, or using EasyRead, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

EasyRead provides a reading experience that may include:

  • Access to curated and/or admin-published books
  • Importing your own documents (where available)
  • Vocabulary tools, highlights, notes, and reading progress
  • Optional AI reading assistance (simplify, summarize, explain, translate, etc.)
  • Optional cloud sync and premium subscription features

Features may change as we improve the product.

2. Eligibility

You must be legally able to enter a binding agreement in your country. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

3. Accounts

  • You are responsible for accurate registration information and for keeping your login credentials secure
  • You are responsible for activity under your account
  • Notify us promptly at support@easyread.com if you suspect unauthorized access
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or harm the Service or other users

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes
  • Attempt to hack, scrape, overload, or disrupt the Service
  • Reverse engineer the app except where allowed by law
  • Upload or share content that you do not have rights to use
  • Infringe copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights
  • Abuse AI features (spam, automated bulk misuse, or attempts to extract model secrets)
  • Bypass paywalls, rate limits, or security controls

We may remove content or restrict access when needed to protect the Service.

5. Your content

You retain rights to content you create or import (notes, highlights, personal documents).

By using sync/cloud features, you grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to provide the Service to you.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload/import any PDF or document.

6. Our content & licenses

Books, text extracts, branding, UI, and software provided by EasyRead remain owned by EasyRead and/or its licensors.

You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal reading. You may not redistribute catalog content outside the app unless expressly allowed.

7. Subscriptions & payments

  • Premium features may require a paid subscription
  • Payments are processed by Apple App Store, Google Play, and/or RevenueCat
  • Pricing, billing period, trials, and renewals are shown in the store listing / purchase flow
  • Manage or cancel renewals in your Apple/Google account settings
  • Refunds are subject to Apple/Google policies

8. AI features

AI features are provided “as available” and may be limited for free users.

AI outputs can be inaccurate or incomplete. Do not rely on AI for medical, legal, financial, or other critical advice. You are responsible for how you use AI results.

9. Third-party services

The Service may integrate third parties (sign-in providers, cloud storage, AI APIs, payment platforms, push services). Their terms and privacy policies also apply when you use those features.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or fully secure operation, or that AI/content will meet your expectations.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EasyRead AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US (IF ANY) IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR USD $50 IF YOU PAID NOTHING.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, limits apply to the fullest extent allowed.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service.

Provisions that by nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability limits) will survive termination.

13. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the Service operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory local consumer law says otherwise.
